Kevin O'Shea, the founder of Partnership for Dads, is a popular    
magazine columnist,speaker, and author on parenting topics. Kevin
has helped countless fathers (and mothers) become more involved
in the lives of their children. Kevin recently joined the Board of Directors
of Birmingham Bloomfield Families in Action (BBFA), Michigan's
most active parent education organization. You can find out

Chris Edwards, former Chief Meteorologist for FOX2 News in Detroit
and the founder ofweatherWhysguy, an educational program
that uses children's interest in weather toteach important science
concepts through school-based workshops and assemblies.Chris is
also a well-known speaker on a variety of parenting topics.

Tom FitzPatrick,  private therapist and speaker specializing in issues
surrounding marriage and relationships. Tom was one of the founders
of the Fathers Conference and served as its first Keynote Speaker,
he remains one of the most popular speakers in Michigan on the
importance of balancing life, marriage, and parenting.

Roger McPhail, a well-known parenting educator and former
head of The Fatherhood Project at Oakland Family Services.
Roger is now the Director of the City of Detroit's
Fatherhood Program and an in-demand speaker
on active fathering.


Dave Force, a Birmingham residential builder and business owner
who is one of the most effective advocates for getting fathers
more involved in their children's schools. Dave and his company,
Force Building, were recently profiled in The Detroit News.


Christy Edwards, an active planner and supporter of the Annual
Midwest Fathers Conference for several years. Christy has been
instrumental in developing workshops for the Conference
and publicizing the event.


Jim Semerad, one of the leaders of Dads of Michigan, the state's top
organization for divorced parents. Dads of Michigan and its affiliate,
Moms of Michigan, provide education and advice to help parents
navigate the challenges of divorce. Find out more about both

Mark Wilson, Assistant Principal at North Farmington High School.
Mark spent eleven years as a radio broadcaster at WHMI radio in
Livingston County before becoming an educator and
public school administrator.


Mike Josephson of the Michigan Chapter of The ManKind Project,
an international progressive men's organization striving to be
increasingly inclusive and affirming of cultural differences.


Mark Baron, a Farmington Hills father and longtime supporter
of the Annual Midwest Fathers Conference.


Randy Muffley, an elementary school principal and fatherhood
advocate in Farmington Hills who has served as a popular
workshop leader at the Annual Midwest Fathers Conference.


Jay Kalisky, founder of the enormously successful Proud Dads
program at Covington School in Birmingham. Jay is currently
working with the Birmingham Public Schools to expand the
Proud Dads program and help fathers become
more involved in their children's education.

Larry Herren, a Clinical Social Worker for Health Alliance Plan
and a member of the Board of Directors of Farmington Youth
Assistance. Larry is a constant advocate for fathers and the
importance of involved fatherhood.

OUR MISSION

Partnership for Dads is a Michigan nonprofit organization that works
with existing institutions to help fathers become more involved parents.  
Partnership for Dads was founded in 2003, and our rapid growth
reflects our success in making connections throughout the community.

GRANTS AWARDED

Partnership for Dads
actively pursues grants
to further our existing
programs and to help
launch new programs.
In 2007 alone, we

r
eceived two grants
from the National
Fatherhood Initiative,
one to place an
informational kiosk
for expectant and new
fathers at Michigan's
busiest hospital and
one to provide new
fathers with "Daddy
Packs" containing vital
information about how
they can be involved,
nurturing parents. We
have also received a
grant from Allegra
Printing in Troy,
Michigan to help with
the design and
production of the
brochure for the 2008
Midwest Fathers
Conference.

volunteers and the

develop and present
