Honorable Edward Sosnick (Ret.)

Judge Edward Sosnick is a former Oakland County judge who had spent 24 years on the Circuit Court bench when he retired in January of 2013. Judge Sosnick left private practice to become first a city attorney and then a prosecuting attorney for Oakland County, where he ultimately achieved senior trial attorney status. Judge Sosnick was named chief judge of the Oakland County Circuit Court for the 1996-1997 term and the 1998-1999 term. He was twice voted one of Michigan’s Most Respected Judges by Michigan Lawyers Weekly poll.

Judge Sosnick, who is Of Counsel to the firm Steinhardt Pesick & Cohen, focuses his practice on Alternative Dispute Resolution, including formal and informal arbitration, mediation, and facilitation.

Judge Sosnick is a co-founder of Oakland County Circuit Court’s S.M.I.L.E. Program. In addition, he is a Board Member of The RESTORE Foundation, Advisory Board Member of Common Ground Sanctuary, Co-Founder of SAVE and an Advisory Board Member of Dads and Moms of Michigan.
